Biography

2000
In the beginning there was an idea to create music. It manifested on some winter night in 2000, when the first traces of songs were made and performed. With songs came the lyrics, and after it a name for a band. The original idea was to play a unique type of black metal with ambient keyboards and screaming vocal , but a lot more. As time went by, a full line-up was shaped and our ideas and wishes started to take forms on the realm of music. The first members were Duvall (keyboards), Div (drums), Caurtoth (vocals) and Simon (guitars).

2001
Simon left the band in the beginning of 2001 for several reasons. Varg Gorgoneion, being active in underground for nearly 7 years, being a founding member of Noctiferia, and having some other metal projects (such as Perun) was the best replacement for him. With his arrival only the band started to work in a way it should and became like one mind and progressed very quickly. 2001 was the year when After Many Aeons demo was recorded. Response was great and demo was sold out few weeks later. There was however still an empty place in the band for a bass player. First one to apply was a guy from Russia, Jurij Alimov, but he lasted only a month or two. A session bass player Jure was enroled and band performed the first live act in one of the best clubs in Ljubljana. After it, Caurtoth decided to leave the band for personal reasons. On his place came Gorr, with great talent and band played live quite a lot, also abroad.

2002
Band was very active, writing new songs and playing live with bands like Agathodaimon, Unpure, Ancient, Watain, Cadaverous Condition, Ancient Ceremony and many others. A live album was recorded on a show in January 2002 called Live in MKC, only for promotional purposes.
The first officially released album was Guardian of the Desert for the Impaled productions, which came out in January 2003. The band never really got all the money and cds they were promised in the contract, so the cooperation with this label was canceled. Magus Noctum also gained a full time bass player, Gothar and band had the best sound ever.

2003
Supporting the album Guardian of the Desert, Magus Noctum went on a european tour with Lord Belial and Forlorn in January/February 2003. The tour ended prematurely for the band, because Magus Noctum van crushed with the van Lord Belial were driving. So therefore Magus Noctum did only half of the dates.
After the tour, Gorr left the band due to lack of time and personal reasons. Magus Noctum were preparing material for the next album, which was recorded in August - November period in Kapa Studios, and mastered in Metro Studios. We will see what happens next.
